It’s fun to see a Brit quoting the document Americans used to repudiate British rule! But it’s a verygood reminder that our personal independence must be celebrated, too! I’m so glad that Americans and British are pals these days! I hope you have a great day, Karen!
I think it is often not until we find ourselves alone that we begin to develop our independence and it can feel a little overwhelming having a choice which direction to take.
Help! People are saying to me that I can do anything I want and that I am capable of so much. But I am out of my comfort zone in this brave new world. There are the odd moments though, when I see how wide the horizon really is.
I think there are questions we asked ourselves way back when, Karen. Remember when we wanted to set the world afire, when anything and everything seemed possible? Those old questions are best answered now, talking while consuming a few glasses of red. We should get get together, get half-tipsy, tell each other half-lies and pretend we are brave. We can convince ourselves, pretending. 🙂
I believe the answers haven’t changed, but we have suffered the slings and arrows of life and therefore, have more doubts. We are as good as we ever were, and smarter too. This is what i tell myself, anyway. 🙂

I went to Glastonbury yesterday and was, as always, amazed to see so many people searching for something to help them make sense of things. Things often don’t seem to make much sense do they? And I guess we all have to find our own ways to convince ourselves that we are holding everything together.
I have moments of sublime creativity and joy…and then it can all so easily, in a heartbeat, fall apart.
Yes, wine is good and sharing our stories would be good too.
It is harder to brave as we get older, but I think that on a good day, we can be magnificent!

P.S I am going to publish a post about the Glastonbury visit. I did not go there to discover the “Hippie Message” but to visit my favourite shop in the world! It does not sell crystals, but amazing furniture and decorative items. I think you will like the colour and the positive vibe.
Karen, that’s awesome. I’ll be looking forward to your post. I posted about our conversation too, in a way. We just have to have faith, as we tend to become more cautious as we get older.
